The water, especially chest deep and deeper unweights the joints in a way that makes it easier to move. And to move with less pain. When the body is supported by the water and joints are lifted by the buoyancy inherent in water, it is often possible to move in normal movement patterns in ways not possible on land with pain, gravity, and weakness issues.
At Aquatic PT of Nevada, manual PT precedes the water to gain range and soft tissue health. Then we begin retraining the body to move in healthy ways and gradually increase both range of motion and strength.
